With that Moon Language

With that Moon Language

Admit something:
Everyone you see,
you say to them,
"Love me."
Of course you do not
do this out loud,
otherwise someone
would call the cops.
Still though, think about this,
this great pull in us
to connect.
Why not become the one
who lives with a full moon
in each eye
that is always saying,
with that sweet moon language,
what every other eye
in this world
is dying to hear.

-Hafiz (1325-1389)

  1. Yes, the "moon language" - the language of love... :) How wonderful it would be to be that open and vulnerable that we could all speak that language... You are probably familiar with Rumi's poem, Close the Language Door? He talks of this too. Here is the link in case you haven't read it.

  2. Ah yes, Rumi and Hafiz are my favorite companions. It's been a long time since I read that one...thank you for bringing it back to me.
