Yes, that's "alter with an e" as in alteration. The art you see here combines traditional mediums of paint, collage and photography and takes them into the digital realm to be transformed into something new.
Stunning colors. And I love the way you have framed it - almost, for me, giving the feeling of a "rainbow" trapped. That goes so well with the last lines "...a rainbow under pressure became the treasured agate." Beautiful...
Sue, I order mine from Dharma Trading Company. Here's a link to the Jacquard website (makers of Pinata) with some mail order sources for Australia. http://www.jacquardproducts.com/storelocator/index.php
You're the 2nd person in as many days i've seen mention 'yupo'.... will have to investigate! Have only recently found you & have been enjoying your art & your words.... i'm not a great 'comment-er' but thought it time i said hello :-)
Hi Suzi - and welcome! Yes, yupo is a synthetic, non-porous "paper." It's a great substrate for working with alcohol inks, as well as other types of media. http://www.yupousa.com/paper/index.php
Sue, my goodness...that is expensive! Maybe things will change in time and they will get more affordable. Are you able to buy the Ranger inks? or Spectrum Noir?
Stacy, I have about 47 ranger inks.I think that is nearly the whole range and I use copic markers as I can get them cheaper,4 for $20. I have only just started out,but I'm lovin' it.
Love it all, Stace...especially the evolution....just keeps getting better and better!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine! What a fascinating observation! I think I'll chew on that one for awhile.
Thank you, Sue! I used a combination of Ranger and Pinata alcohol inks, with Pinata gold mixative.
Oh so wish I could get Pinata in Australia.
