Stargazer Lily (Stacy Wills, 2013)
alcohol inks on ceramic tile
Why is it so hard
for us to rest? Did not
John recline upon
his Savior's breast at table?
Follow his example.
Do the lilies of the field
toil and spin? Yet
no one thinks that it's a sin
for them to glorify God
the way they do,
dressed more finely
than Solomon, and that
not of their doing.
Consider, oh yes...
consider them, when tempted
to worry about anything.

Oooo - so lovely... And I love the name "Stargazer Lily." Gazing into the cosmos in awe of being - my favorite activity :) Lovely words in your poem too. Just rest... yes... Just being who we are, that is enough...
ReplyDeleteYour art is stunning! This is absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine and Cindi for your kind words. This medium of alcohol inks really lends itself to "letting go" of the outcome and trusting in the process itself. Blessings to you both!
